For once he wasn't being a hermit inside of the hut. It did feel nice to be outside, and on top of that is showed the teenager was actually alive. Now there was a downside to all of this. Specifically, Thomas was sitting in a wooden chair, reading his slightly old book on physics. This was the point where it was obvious that the kid wasn't planning on doing anything out of the norm. Of course, that was somewhat far from the truth. In reality, he was waiting for a representative from the Resistance to come and get take him to the base. With a sigh, Thomas merely turned a book in his book, eventually putting his feet up on a small stump in front of him. He didn't know how long or how short the wait would be.
There were quite a few things wandering his mind that gave him feelings of regret for his decision. His out of the ordinary choice of joining the Resistance meant he would likely be traveling to new places. This was the complete opposite of his typical nature, being a coward and all. Was it really for some cause he believed in, or more so that someone told him to join this war? Quite frankly the answer was much more complicated than that, and intelligence didn't necessarily mean having the information to deal with it. On top of that, his surrogate father of a WereGarurumon seemed to have gotten on his case the night before. It was along the lines being sternly told that the moment Thomas joined the Resistance, he better stick with it and not come crying back home. A mix of feelings about being told off like that remained in the boy.
With an aggravated sigh, the human gently smacked his open book on his forehead a couple of times. He needed to stop thinking about this entire mess, and just go along with it. Either this was going to be a stupid thing to do, or he could easily just get this over with and continue on with his life. But of course, that didn't stop other thoughts from going through his mind. How would others react to a human kid who lived around here in the Digital World suddenly crawling out of his hole into the open world? Another groan came from his throat, the overweight kid closing his book and leaning back in the chair. There wasn't much to look at aside from huts, trees, and more trees. Granted, he wasn't leaving the forest due to the scenery, as he really didn't care in all honesty.
Sitting up finally, Thomas took a glance around the area. Nobody had shown up yet, although it probably hadn't been that long to begin with. Perhaps there was something he could munch on back inside the hut. Then again there wasn't much food at the moment, so he probably would've gotten an earful about it. Yet another plan going down the drain. Taking his feet off the stump, he stared out through the trees... just waiting.
