Here are the rules in place for combat situations:
- No godmodding. Things like dodging every attack doesn't make much sense, even if the digimon in question is a fast one.
- Typically, digimon of the same level are on equal planes in terms of power, but be realistic. A Betamon fighting an Agumon in water will have a pretty huge advantage compared to the dinosaur digimon, with water environments being natural to a Betamon.
- Be aware of the digivolution rules. As a reminder, once every 3 posts a digimon can digivolve.
- Also be aware of the opponent's evolution level. A Rookie will always have a rough time against a Champion, but an Ultimate will have play time when facing the same Champion down the line.
- Make sure to think about how much damage your digimon has taken in combat. Unless you're too stubborn to stop fighting, you will need to think realistically about how much damage a tamer's digimon can take. It's okay to lose sometimes.
- While in combat, pleasure note that you will only have two actions per turn in any combination. Attack and move, digivolve and guard, etc., are all viable options, but please be reasonable with your choices. Your attacks will not always hit, and it's perfectly acceptable to take a few scratches when trying to dodge. This is in place so we don't have people shooting off something crazy like 5 attacks in one post. Typically, combat scenarios are in quick succession, so there really isn't much time between your opponent's attacks and actions.
- Try and be creative with your combat. A good strategy using the surroundings of the area can make fighting much easier.
- Stressing again to be aware of your digimon's capabilities. Various websites are out there for your use, so use them well! Also, your digimon will not necessarily have the abilities of its previous and later evolutions. Each digimon is unique, so as a helpful hint, treat each evolution stage as its own entity when it comes to combat.
